Hey guys! Kinda need some help and thought an outsider's perspective would help.
I'm currently taking 13 units (English Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1 and 2, Biology, Chemistry, French, and SOR 1) but I'm already noticing that I'm slowly slipping behind some of my subjects. I thought I would keep all 13 units for the HSC but I've started to have doubts.
The only subject I can really drop is French because though I loathe Chemistry, it is a prerequisite for my dream uni course and I'm somehow coming 1st so far in my year so I think dropping it would be a terrible idea. I'd also love to drop SOR1 but it's unfortunately compulsory at my school.
French is kinda my 'release' class in a way; I feel relaxed and chill whenever I come in, and I love my whole class. However, I don't really care much for the content, and I never study for the assessments nor do I prioritise the homework for class. That being said, I finished off 2nd in the course in Year 11 and am still currently coming 2nd, so it's not like I'm doing bad in the class. And it gives me some sort of peace of mind knowing I'd have a subject to fall back on if I ever mess up any of my other subjects. But I never have the urge to try hard in the class - I'm really only there to have fun with my friends and to ease my anxiety of messing up one of my other courses.
Would the free periods really be that much of a benefit or should I keep French just in case anything goes wrong?
