Hi y'all, I'm considering dropping 2 units for my HSC but want to get some outsider judgements on what I should drop.
I'm currently doing 14 units (4U English, Modern, Legal, Visual Arts, Maths Adv and Chem). At the moment I am performing pretty evenly across the board, ranking within the top 15% for all my subjects except math and chemistry where I'm sitting pretty much in the middle of my grade for both courses. I do go to a selective school, but I don't know if that will change anything.
Currently considering whether to drop Art or Chem. In art, I sit towards the top of my cohort, (ranked 4/16), and I'm not sure where I sit in chem but pretty sure I'm averaging around the middle. I don't really enjoy Chem, and sometimes find the concepts difficult to understand. I have organised a tutor to see if that helps but I'm just not sure that I'll be putting too much effort into one subject for not a lot of gain.
My goal for HSC is a 96+ ATAR because I would like to study law, and I hope to Achieve Band 6, and band 5 for Math and Chem (my brain doesn't like numbers)
I know I'll benefit from the free periods, but I just unsure as to what would best suit my HSC goal. Some outside perspectives would be greatly appreciated. ✌️
